Price of spruce sawlogs in Germany up 0.9% in November

According to figures from the German Statistics Office (Statistisches Bundesamt) the producer price index for spruce sawlogs of type Fichte B from the state forests in Germany was at 105.0 in November (+0.9% compared to previous month, +7.1% compared to same month in 2023). The preliminary average export price of spruce lumber (FOB) from Germany was 247 €/m³ in October (+2.9%, +6.9%).

In the chart below we compare the indexed price of spruce lumber and spruce sawlogs. The indexed average export price of lumber has been relatively stable during during the past months. The price of spruce sawlogs is at a slightly higher level than during the end of 2023.
